This newsletter coincides with the introduction of our
practice website. I am happy to introduce this avenue of information to
our patients, friends of the practice, and referring doctors.
I decided that the time was right to implement this valuable tool.
There are several companies that offer to set up sites for doctors.
Realizing that most of the documentation was the same once you passed a
fancy homepage, I decided to design our own site, with the services of
our webmaster. We based our design on the concerns our patients voiced to
us. Most of the information

should help a patient obtain some of the introductory understanding of
what specific conditions we manage, along with directions, office forms,
and information about insurance.
I intend to modify and improve the site as the
requirements of our patients change.

What’s New? Technology in bone healing! PRP
|
I have recently incorporated new technology into the practice that has
been shown to dramatically improve wound healing and in the reconstructive
patient.
Known as Platelet Derived Growth Factors or Platelet Rich
Plasma, it has been shown to significantly accelerate the bodies’ own
ability to heal. This has tremendous impact for success in bone grafting
for implant reconstruction as well as orthognathic surgical facial
reconstruction.
The system is by a company, Harvest Technologies®, with the research

quarterbacked by Dr. Robert Marx at the University of Miami. He has
been successfully “growing” grafted bone for decades…all based on sound
scientific principles.
